Child Watch is a non-profit community coalition of child advocates focused on making the needs of children in Allegheny County a priority.

Together, we:

  • Advocate: We identify issues facing our children and encourage all members of the community to become involved as a unified voice for our children.
  • Educate: We take policy makers, civic leaders and stakeholders into situations where they can observe children in particular environments to gain an understanding of the problems our children face.
  • Collaborate: We convene key stakeholders, individuals and organizations to share ideas and mobilize toward action.

In April, 2011, a Task Force was formed in Pennsylvania to examine how child abuse is addressed in the state. They have recently released their findings and recommendations for substantial changes to the existing guidelines. The report can be accessed here, along with an analysis of the recommendations and comparison of current law with proposed statute by POCC (Protect Our Children Committee).
